Rub the inside of a ceramic fondue pot with a half clove of garlic.Add grated Waldviertler smoked cheese, 350 ml white wine and the remaining garlic (pressed) to the pot and heat, stirring continuously until the cheese has melted and the mixture is smooth.Whisk together 1 tbsp of cornflour with 50 ml kirsch in a small bowl and add to the fondue pot. Constantly stir and bring to a mild simmer.
Season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and fresh herbs and serve with the sides.
Our tip:If children participate, you can just substitute the kirsch with 50 ml of water.
