Esperagus and Fresh Cheese Pouches with Bacon
Ingredients for 6 portions
1 pack of puff pastry
6 slices of bacon
12 sticks of green asparagus, halved
12 sticks of white asparagus, peeled, precooked and halved
1 clove of garlic, chopped
1 cup of “Feine Ziege” fresh cheese
1 egg, whisked, to brush onto dough
1 pinch of nutmeg, grated
Salt and pepper
Preheat dough in oven at 210°C, upper/lower heat.
Unroll the dough together with the baking paper, and cut through, once across and twice lengthways, so 6 rectangles are created. Cut into each corner twice, parallel to the edge.
Arrange 1 tbsp of “Feine Ziege” at the corners of each one. Wrap two green and two white asparagus halves per corner in the bacon, and place centrally at the corner of the dough.
Cross over both dough corners in opposite directions, and brush on the egg.
Bake the asparagus pouches in the oven for approx. 15 minutes, until golden-brown.
